As part of the Exchange’s capacity building programmes and market development initiatives, the NGX Derivatives Market webinar in collaboration with the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS), Nigeria seeks to deepen the knowledge of the investing public on the recently launched NGX Derivatives Market.

The Webinar will focus on the intricacies of Derivatives futures contract, including how the contract is traded and settled on a day-to-day basis, the margining process, and risk management issues. It will provide an understanding of various applications of equity index and single stock futures contracts, including trading and arbitrage applications, and a range of investment fund applications, outlining the motivations for such transactions, how they are executed, and the rewards and risks involved.

Furthermore, the webinar will include a panel discussion on The Role of Derivatives Market in Nigeria. It will draw on the knowledge and experience of the panellists and various stakeholder groups, provide an understanding on the importance and applicability of Derivatives products in the Nigerian Financial Market, and centre on ways to deepen the Derivatives market and address concerns of various stakeholder groups.
